Hari Achuthan is a founder and Managing Partner of private equity firm ACO Investment Group, a firm looking to develop alternative investment strategies. Hari also is a co-founder of Convalt Energy Services – an energy services group that is focused on clean energy. Prior to founding ACO Investment Group, Hari was a Director in the Alternative Investments group from April 2009 till April 2010 at Credit Suisse Asset Management covering hedge fund, real estate and private equity strategies. Hari also lead the global pension strategy and transition management business at Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC since 2004. During his career at Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, Credit Suisse consistently ranked among the top providers of pension strategies and transition management. Hari Achuthan was named one of the “Rising Stars in Public Pensions” by Money Management Letter and selected as one of the emerging leaders in Credit Suisse Asset Management in 2009.
Prior to joining CSFB, Hari worked in the transition management and the program sales-trading group at Lehman Brothers. At Lehman, Hari was involved in building out the infrastructure for transition services and program sales & trading. Hari began his financial career at Morgan Stanley where he worked in developing state of the art program trading technology and streamlined the technology infrastructure for which he received a CIO award. A 1994 graduate of Hofstra University in Applied Economics, Hari is also an alumnus of Hofstra University Football. Hari has also volunteered with Jacksonville Police Athletic League, is a frequent guest lecturer at Louisiana State University School of Business in addition to authoring articles and papers on the transition management industry, some of which have been published in Pensions & Investments and Institutional Investor magazines. Hari is registered with the Series 7, Series 63, Series 3, Series 24 and Series 55 licenses in the United States.
Rono J. Dutta is currently a co-founder and Managing Director at ACO Investment Group while also heading up the aerospace and defense portfolio. Mr. Dutta is a global strategic thinker with outstanding skills in business restructuring and development. In multiple leadership roles, in both large and small companies, Mr. Dutta has set strategies and led teams to create growth, improve value and deliver operational efficiencies that result in strong financial performance. Mr Dutta is an accomplished and respected leader with over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry.
From 2004 till 2008, Mr. Dutta served as President of Sahara Airlines Limited which subsequently was acquired by Jet Airways. In this role, Mr. Dutta had full P&L responsibility of a $400mm full service airline with a 25 city route system and 44 aircraft, developed and executed a plan that grew sales at 35% a year.
Mr. Dutta served as President of United Airlines from 1999 till 2002, during his long career at UAL which began in 1985. Prior to becoming President, he served as Senior Vice-President of Planning and Revenue Management from 1995 till 1999 and as a Vice President in a number of divisions including finance, maintenance and cargo from 1989.
Mr Dutta has served as a strategic advisor to several airlines such as Air Canada, Hawaiian Airlines and US Airways. He has advised financial institutions such as Houlahan Lokey, Cerebrus, Greenbriar, Alabama Retirement as they considered investment opportunities in the aviation sector and serves as a member of Board of Trustees of Ravinia Festival, Chicago.
Mr. Dutta has been a member of the Board of Directors of Marsico Capital from 1997 – 2005. He has also served as Director of US Airways Group Inc. from 2003 till 2004 and served on the board of United Airlines from 1999 – 2002. Mr. Dutta is a graduate of Indian Institute of Technology and Harvard Business School
